Tuesday Tip: Coupons or Club Cards?

This comes down to time management. Clipping coupons (and searching them out) takes time. You can save a LOT of money by going through the newspapers and weekly mailers, clipping coupons and planning your weekly menu around what is on sale that week.  You can even go to the website for your local store, and chances are there will be more coupons there you can use. BUT this all takes time. If you have an extra 30 min to an hour a week, take the time. If you don’t, then don’t stress about it.

I DO advise you to sign up for a grocery store club card. Most items in grocery stores now have two prices listed, the regular price, and the club card price. Why not take advantage of something that does not cost you any money?

And take a quick look through the coupons that are printed for you when you cash out. The “mind” of the cash register tries to print items that are useful to you, or at least related to what you just purchased. Every now and then, those little slips of paper can come in very handy.
